The first of the simple basketball plays is the dribble handoff. One player dribbles toward a teammate and hands off the ball to that teammate. It is at the moment of the handoff that a chance for a score occurs. The recipient of the handoff is to dribble hard to the basket or, if within shooting range, take a quick dribble or two and then take a shot. The key is to take advantage of the defense being a little out of position during the handoff.
Sit Dribbling Sit on the floor, your legs crossed in front of you. Dribble the ball with your right hand, and dribble it around your back as far as you can get to your left side. Then pass the ball to your left hand and continue to dribble the ball around to the front of you and then pass it to your right hand. Essentially, you are dribbling the ball around your body and passing it from one hand to another. Repeat this drill 15 times, and then do the same drill in the opposite direction.
A little about myself. I first started playing basketball when I was 10 years old and I never looked back. I played college ball four years and played professional basketball overseas for 5 years now. Basketball is a passion of mine because I love the game and work hard to become the best player I can be. My vertical is 36\" and I can shoot and play great defense.
